Sweet Briar College Athletic Director Kelly Morrison announced the appointment of assistant soccer coach Kevin Fabulich as head soccer coach, replacing Paul Shaw who resigned in April. Fabulich joined the Vixen soccer staff last fall.
Fabulich brings eight years of coaching experience to the Vixen program. Since 2005, he has been the head boys varsity and junior varsity coach at Amherst County High School, where he has also been a teacher. This season he led the varsity Lancers to the district championship game.
"The opportunity to coach the Sweet Briar soccer team is a great honor and I am thrilled to take over the program,” Fabulich said. “As the assistant last year, I learned that Sweet Briar College is truly a special place. Our team plays with trust, confidence and passion and I am excited to lead the pink and green to new heights."
Before coming to Amherst, Fabulich coached the girls’ varsity team at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School in Gainesville, FL for three seasons, leading the Lady Blue Wave to two consecutive regional final appearances. Fabulich also served as associate coach for an area girls' U18 team while in Gainesville.
Fabulich holds a C license from the U.S. Soccer Federation and is on the staff for the Western District Olympic Development Program.
