LEXINGTON — Sweet Briar tennis wrapped up this weekend's ODAC Women's Championships eighth out of 11 teams after falling 6-3 to #6 Guilford College in this morning's seventh-place match.

The Vixens captured singles wins at #2 and #4 with Blair Blincoe '10 (Vienna, VA/Norfolk Academy) battling back from a first-set loss to win 4-6, 6-1, (10-3) at #2 and Shannon Schalestock '09 (Casanova, VA/Highland School) taking her match at #4 6-2, 7-6 (4). In doubles action, Blincoe and fellow first-year Virginia Edahl (Charlotte, NC/Providence) won their match at #1 8-6, to finish the three-day tournament 3-1.
