Conductor Joe Nigro and the Sweet Briar College Chamber Orchestra will present a concert 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 in Memorial Chapel.
Area listeners might know Nigro from his performances as a violist with the Roanoke Symphony, the James String Quartet and the Wintergreen Music Festival.
He has joined Sweet Briar’s faculty as director of the chamber orchestra, which includes SBC students, students from area studios and professional musicians, including SBC faculty.
The SBC Choir also is set to perform its Spring Concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26 in Memorial Chapel under the direction of Frank Archer.
Archer, an associate professor of fine arts at Hampden-Sydney College, is a visiting associate professor at Sweet Briar and is director of choral music at the College.
