Tennis' Blincoe Named Conference Player of the Week

Blair Blincoe '10

Tennis’ Blair Blincoe ’10 (Vienna, VA/Norfolk Academy) was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week for the week of April 16, after picking up her sixth straight win on Sunday.

Blincoe stretched her win streak to six matches with a decisive 6-0,6-0 win at #2 singles against Emory & Henry College. Her win was one of two Sweet Briar captured from the Wasps in the match.

Her streak began March 29 with a victory over Southern Virginia’s #2 player and has continued with wins against conference opponents from Guilford College, Randolph-Macon College, Bridgewater College and Lynchburg College.

In addition to her win on Sunday, Blincoe was 2-0 against Lynchburg this past week, taking both her #2 singles match and #1 doubles match. She and doubles teammate Virginia Edahl ’10 (Charlotte, NC/Providence) are 6-3 in matches this spring.
