GUILFORD, NC — Sweet Briar softball produced under pressure Saturday, coming back from a 5-3 deficit in the seventh inning to take game one from host Guilford College 6-5. The Vixens also took game two by a 6-5 score to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Down 3-5 in the top of the seventh inning, senior Lynnsey Brown (Houston, TX/Clements) came through with a clutch two-run home run to tie the game at 5-5. Brittney Berry '09 (Tappahannock, VA/Essex) then walked and scored to cap the Vixen comeback. Berry was 2-for-3 in the game with two runs scored and 1 RBI.
First-year Nikki Taylor (Wendell, NC/East Wake) was the beneficiary of the comeback. She picked up the win after relieving Becca Almond '10 (Spout Springs, VA/Appomattox County) in the sixth inning.
Junior Beth Anderson (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) provided the Vixen offense in game two. She came through with a two-out double in the third to bring in two runs and another run- producing double in the seventh inning which also knocked in two runs.
Taylor picked up her second win of the day in the game, while Almond worked 1.2 innings for the save.

The Vixens, 5-3 in the conference, return home on Sunday to host Roanoke College for a 2 p.m. conference doubleheader.
