Wheeler Picks Up Come-Back Singles Win as Vixens Host Marlins

Rosie Wheeler '10

First-year Rosie Wheeler (Idaho Falls, ID/Hillcrest) came back from a first-set loss Sunday to pick up a win at #6 singles as Sweet Briar tennis hosted the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins. The Marlins, currently second in the conference, took the match 8-1 to improve to 10-1 on the season.

Wheeler fell 6-0 in the first set of her #6 singles match before coming back strong in the second set 6-2. She then took the match in the tiebreaker by a score of 10-5.

Sweet Briar looks to bounce back from this weekend's action when the Vixens host non-conference Southern Virginia University this Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
