Visiting Randolph-Macon College handed the Sweet Briar College Vixens a 16-7 loss Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's lacrosse action. The loss moves Sweet Briar's record to 1-7, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-2.

Ellie Donahue '08 (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) kick-started the Vixen offense in the first half with a goal in the 11th minute, assisted from Megan Behrle '09 (Manassas, VA/Stonewall Jackson). Sweet Briar would add four more tallies to the board in the half, but surrendered 12 goals to the Yellow Jackets to trail 12-5 at the break.

The offense slowed for both teams in the second half of play, with Macon outscoring Sweet Briar 4-2. Donahue added two goals in the last five minutes to finish with four, while senior Julie Sellers (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) netted two goals for Sweet Briar. Sophomore Meredith Newman (Charlottesville, VA/Tandem) also scored for the Vixens.

Sweet Briar's Emily Fitzpatrick '07 (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) turned back 16 shots in the game. Lindsay Schabert stopped four shots for the Yellow Jackets.

Sweet Briar travels to Roanoke on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. conference game.
