Vixens Fall in Day Two of Snowbird
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Sweet Briar softball fell in both games Tuesday as play continued at the Snowbird Softball Tournament. The Vixens opened the day with a 9-3 loss to Gettysburg College. Sophomore Melissa Viar (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst County) accounted for two of Sweet Briar’s three runs in the game. She went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles. Sweet Briar’s third run came via a Meagan Bell ’09 (Amherst, VA/Amherst County) sacrifice fly in the third inning.

Iowa Wesleyan handed the Vixens a 12-1 loss in game two. Krystal Ellis ’08 (Rustburg, VA/Rustburg) scored the lone Vixen run of the game, crossing the plate in the third inning.

Sweet Briar takes on Arcadia University and Russell Sage College on Wednesday.
