Sweet Briar College Athletic Director Kelly Morrison announced the resignation of head swimming coach Jason Gallaher Tuesday, stating Gallaher would stay through the end of first quarter classes, which end March 6.
At last weekend’s ODAC/Atlantic States meet, Vixen swimming finished third out of 11 teams capturing 18 top-10 finishes to close the three-day meet with 341 points overall and a third-place showing among Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) teams.
Gallaher, named 2005 ODAC Coach of the Year, led Sweet Briar to a 27-14 record during his four seasons. He came to Sweet Briar in August, 2003 from California University of Pennsylvania where he was the graduate assistant for a program that achieved a 10-0 dual meet record and finished with a top-twenty ranking in Division II swimming.
