GREENSBORO, NC – Richmond native Hannah Hesser '10 (Trinity Episcopal) set a school record Saturday as Sweet Briar swimming picked up its 10th win of the season in Greensboro. The Vixens, swimming in their last dual meet of the season, defeated host Guilford College, while suffering the team's first loss since Nov. 5 at the hands of Division II Catawba.
Hesser’s record came in the 800 M. freestyle as she captured first place with a time of 9:54.96. Sweet Briar also picked up first-place points from Victoria Goddard '09 (Richmond, VA/Westminster Academy), Brittany Carlton '08 (Warrenton, VA/Highland), Kelsey Jeffers '07 (Falls Church, VA/Falls Church) and Catie Gumpman '10 (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) as the relay team touched the wall first in the 200 M. medley relay.
The Vixens, 10-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference, finish the season Feb. 16-18 at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference/Atlantic States Meet at Radford University.
