Sweet Briar College will host a Girls and Women in Sports clinic from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. This is the third year Sweet Briar had offered the clinic, which is open to girls ages 7 to 13.
Girls and Women in Sports clinics, organized by Virginia Amateur Sports, offer young girls the opportunity to learn and participate in a variety of sports at sessions led by college coaches and student-athletes. This year, clinics in dance, soccer, swimming, team building and tennis will be offered at Sweet Briar.
The cost to attend is $10, which includes a T-shirt and Girl Scouts patch, snacks and door prizes. Online registration and printable entry forms can be found at
www.commonwealthgames.org . All participants must pre-register by Feb. 5. No on-site registration will be available.
This is the ninth year for the Girls and Women in Sports clinics, which are held simultaneously at Ferrum College, Hollins University, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Roanoke College and Sweet Briar.
