Bristol, TN — Sweet Briar swimming made it three wins in a row Saturday, downing King College 134-92 in non-conference swimming action. The Vixens took a total of nine events, finishing one-two in three races, to improve their season mark to 7-2.
The relay team of Jennifer Milby ’09 (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis), Kelly Cuddihy ’09 (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), Hannah Hesser ’10 (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) and Victoria Goddard ’09 (Richmond, VA/Westminster Academy) kicked off the meet with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay. The foursome touched the wall first with a time of 4:38.70.
Sweet Briar then went one and two in three of the next four events. Hesser and teammate Stephanie Perks ’09 (Warrenton, VA/Falquier) took first and second, respectively, in the 1000-yard freestyle followed by Goddard and Tori Marshall ’10 (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) who finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle. After Milby captured first-place points in the 100-yard backstroke, Vixens Perks, Cuddihy and Alex DiFeliceantonio ’08 (Wilmington, NC/Amy Bradley) swept the 100-yard breaststroke.
Hesser captured both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events to finish the day with three individual wins. Perks took the 500-yard freestyle event, while Cuddihy put in the fastest times in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley.
Today’s meet was the final meet of the semester for Sweet Briar, who returns to action Jan. 20 at Salem College.
