Hesser Named Conference Swimmer of the Week


First-year Hannah Hesser (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) received Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) swimmer of the week honors for the week of Nov. 20 after putting in her best times of the season against Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (R-MWC) on Nov. 15. Hesser, a dual-sport athlete who returned to the water just over three weeks ago, took first place in three individual events in Sweet Briar's 66-56 win. Her wins came in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:31.53), the 200-yard butterfly (2:24.70) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.92), the latter of which pulled the Vixens into a tie with the WildCats with two events remaining.
