The Vixens of Sweet Briar College split their tri-meet with visiting Washington and Lee University and Emory & Henry College Sunday, downing the E&H Wasps 86-6 and falling to the W&L Generals 54-39. Rounding out the tri-meet, W&L defeated E&H 60-24. The meet was the last home meet of the young season for Sweet Briar and senior Kelsey Jeffers (Falls Church, VA/Falls Church).
First-year Hannah Hesser (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) came through for the Vixens once again as she took first in the 100 M. backstroke (1:16.39) and second in the 200 M. freestyle (2:21.63).
Victoria Goddard ’09 (Richmond, VA/Westminster Academy) and Jeffers also came away with second place finishes for Sweet Briar. Goddard was second in the 50 M. freestyle (30.29) and Jeffers finished second in the 100 M. butterfly with a time of 1:19.53.
The Vixens, now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference, head to Hollins University Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet.
