Field Hockey wrapped up its home schedule Wednesday, hosting the University of Mary Washington in a non-conference contest. Alison Weckstein and Kalyn Perkins scored two goals apiece to help lead the visiting Eagles to an 8-0 win.
Mary Washington jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the break with goals in the 8th, 15th and 22nd minutes. Kiri Jimerson picked up assists on Mary Washington’s first two goals, feeding to scorers Weckstein and Perkins. The Eagles built their lead in the second half adding five tallies to the board from five different players.
The Eagles out shot Sweet Briar 34 to seven in the contest. Katherine Brown picked up the shutout in the cage, stopping a Vixen penalty stroke in the second half.
The Vixens conclude the 2006 regular season this Friday at Roanoke College. Game time is 4 p.m.
