The Vixens of Sweet Briar College could not pick up a win Saturday, as Sweet Briar played host to a tri-match with Methodist College and Mountain State University. Sweet Briar kicked off the tri-match this morning with Methodist College, falling in three games 15-30, 15-30, 24-30. Katie McIntrye ’10 (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) and Lindsay Sankoff ’10 (Charleston, WV/Capital) led the Vixens on the floor, battling to pick up 28 of Sweet Briar’s 46 digs in the match.
Game two saw the Vixens face Mountain State. The Cougars came out on top in the match taking the first three games (30-22, 30-16, 30-16). Sankoff added 10 digs in the match to finish the day with 22. McIntyre and Meagan Bell ’09 (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst County) each had eight digs. At the net, Sankoff led the Vixens with eight kills.
Methodist defeated Mountain State in five games in the day's middle match.
The Vixens remain home, taking on Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
