Filmmaker Karl Nussbaum spoke Wednesday, Oct. 11 with students in Sweet Briar’s bachelor of fine arts program. He is currently a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, a retreat for professional writers, composers and visual artists.
Filmmaker Karl NussbaumThe Brooklyn, N.Y. filmmaker has been making movies for more than 18 years. His work has been presented at dozens of film festivals, including the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. He is a founding member of Film Crash, a N.Y.-based film collective which has presented screenings of over 100 filmmakers in New York, Los Angeles and Europe.
Nussbaum has made several films for theater projects with the Ridge Street Theater group. He also has made more than 25 short films and videos. His promos have been seen on MTV, MTV2, VH-1, Sundance Channel, Fox TV, and the Children's Television Workshop.
The BFA workshop is led by Nick Ross, professor of music.
