The Honors Committee has awarded Honors Scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year to 24 Sweet Briar students.

Honors Scholarships recognize students for excellence in academics and contributions to college and community life. Students are chosen based on written essays, faculty recommendations and academic record, including the breadth and scope of the course of study.

Recipients are selected each spring from the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. The awardees represent Sweet Briar’s most motivated and highest-achieving students.

Class of 2007 recipients are: Caitlin Cashin, Shavonne Clarke, Sarah Kindschuh, Shaheen Moosa, Anne Proctor, Maggie Saylor, Jennifer Summerfield and Rebecca Teachey.


Class of 2008 recipients are: Natalie Batman, Mary Dance, Elizabeth Gold, Rachel Gotwalt, Adlyn Perez-Figueroa, Shanna Ryan, Whitney Towler and Kathryn Whittemore.

Class of 2009 recipients are: Katherine Beach, Rebecca Cortez, Sarah Hall, Lindsey Lewis, Anne Lojek, Julia Patt, Natalie Renaldo and Cassidy Trom.
