Ellis Receives Post-Season Softball Honor
Sweet Briar pitcher/shortstop Krystal Ellis (Rustburg, VA/Rustburg) has received 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honorable mention honors in softball.

Ellis led the Vixens in several offensive categories in Sweet Briar’s first season in the ODAC, including runs scored, home runs and on-base percentage. She hit .367 in 20 games this spring.

Ellis committed only five errors, splitting time between shortstop and the mound in 2006. In 12 appearances, she struck out 50 batters in 57.2 innings.

In Sweet Briar’s first home ODAC contest, Ellis recorded the program’s first home run. She finished with a team-best five home runs on the season. She added the program’s first no-hitter March 4 against Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. The lefty worked five innings in the game and struck out eight.
