First-year Student Julia Patt Wins Boley Prize
Julia Patt ’09 was recently named the recipient of the Boley Prize for her short story, “Grace and Grace,” in which a blended family struggles with cancer and death.

The prize is the culmination of an annual creative writing contest sponsored by Sweet Briar College and The Jean Besselievre Boley Fund. The endowment was established by the parents and husband of Jean Besselievre Boley ’35 to encourage interest in creative writing.

The award will be presented in the fall.
