Softball Drops Doubleheader at Roanoke
ROANOKE – Softball played just its second road doubleheader of the spring Sunday, taking on Roanoke College. The defending conference champion Maroons took both games by scores of 16-1 and 17-1.

Krystal Ellis (Rustburg, VA/Rustburg) led the Vixens at the plate with a three for six showing in the two games. She picked up six assists at shortstop in game one. Meagan Bell (Amherst, VA/Amherst County) knocked in Sweet Briar’s lone run in Game Two with a single to right. Ellis, who singled and took second on a wild pitch, scored on the play.

Sweet Briar continues conference play on Tuesday. The Vixens take on Randolph-Macon Woman’s College at 3 p.m.
