Senior midfielder Joanna Wood (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) was awarded the Presidential Medal on Wednesday, March 22 at the annual Sweet Briar College academic recognition dinner.
The Presidential Medal is the highest honor given by the College to a member of the senior class and is awarded to a student who has demonstrated exemplary intellectual achievement and distinction in some or all of the following areas: service to the community, contributions to the arts, enlargement of the school’s global perspective, athletic fitness and achievement, leadership and contributions to community discourse.
Wood, who spent her junior year abroad, is a three-year member of the lacrosse team. This spring, she has one assist in four games for the Vixens.
