SWEET BRIAR – Twenty-five area girls, ages 6 to 13, participated Saturday in the Girls and Women in Sports Clinic held at Sweet Briar College.
Clinic participants were exposed to dance, lacrosse, tennis and swimming during the four-hour clinic. Sweet Briar coaches and student athletes were on hand to offer instruction in the four sports.
Virginia Amateur Sports, Inc., in conjunction with area parks and recreation departments, the Girls Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), and local corporations sponsored the Girls and Women in Sports Clinic.
Clinics were also held Saturday at Ferrum College, Hollins University, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and Roanoke College.
