Dean Jonathan Green and singers from Sweet Briar College will cross the James River this weekend to perform opera with their musical counterparts at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. The performances — part of an opera workshop — will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, in Smith Hall Theatre at R-MWC.
In its second year, the workshop will feature scenes from seven comedic operas including “Die Fledermaus,” “Fallstaff,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Pirates of Penzance,” “Cosi Fan Tutte” and “The Tenderland.”
General admission is $5, with students younger than 18 admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
