On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Sweet Briar College chaplain’s office and Amherst County Habitat for Humanity will present “Still Working on a Building,” a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity.

Additionally, there will be a pre-concert event by Bobby Jennings’ fiddle students at 5 p.m., and refreshments also will be available for purchase.
In its third year, the event will feature “the best known and loved bluegrass artists in our area,” said SBC Chaplain Guy Brewer, including Heather Berry and Dominion Grass — who recently signed a Nashville recording contract — as well as the Deer Creek Boys, Borrowed Time, Dixie Blue, Hand Picked Grass, Bobby Jennings and Friends, Little Mountain Boys, Long Mountain Grass and 3 M’s (Margaret, Maddox and Mays).
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students with ID, and can be purchased only in advance until Jan. 5. A $27 family ticket is also available, which admits two adults and up to three children younger than 18.
Tickets can be purchased at the following Amherst locations: Amherst Milling, Lou’s Antique Mall, May’s Farm Service, What a Blessing Bakery and WAMV Radio. In Lynchburg, tickets can be purchased at High Peak Sportswear and Lynchburg Music. Tickets are also available at Bob’s Market in Falconerville, Corner Store in Clifford, Robertson’s in Monroe, May’s Farm Service in Colleen and Tim Spears Music City in Waynesboro.
