SWEET BRIAR, VA – Sweet Briar swimming swept its tri-meet with non-conference Virginia Military Instititute and Mary Baldwin College Saturday defeating the Keydets, 90-21 and Mary Baldwin, 67-52. With the two wins, the Vixens improve to 4-2 on the season.
Sophomore Jennifer Milby (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) led Sweet Briar, taking two individual events and one relay. Milby finished first in both backstroke events, finishing the 100 M. backstroke with a time of 1:15.70 and the 200 M. backstroke in 2:49.38. Milby also won the 200 M. medley relay (2:22.00) with teammates Kelly Cuddihy ’09 (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), Sarah Hall ’09 (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale), and Joanna Meade ’06 (King George, VA/King George).
Hall took first in the 50 M. freestyle and Cuddihy captured first in the 200 M. individual medley in addition to their relay win.
Sweet Briar returns to the pool Friday, taking on conference rivals Randolph-Macon College and Emory & Henry College at 6 p.m.
