LEXINGTON, VA – The Vixens of Sweet Briar College suffered their first losses Wednesday losing to Washington and Lee University (82-13) and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (56-39) in a tri-meet at Washington and Lee. The losses even Sweet Briar’s overall record at 2-2 on the young season.
Several Vixens picked up first-place points against Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. The relay team of Jennifer Milby ’08 (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis), Kelly Cuddihy ’09 (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), Sarah Hall ’09 (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) and Joanna Meade ’06 (King George, VA/King George) finished with a time of 2:08.59 in the 200-yard medley relay. Milby also brought in first-place points in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:42.37) and Sara Garrett ’09 (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond River) captured top points in the 50-yard freestyle (30:55).
Sweet Briar returns home Saturday to take on VMI and Mary Baldwin College in a non-conference tri-meet at the Vixen pool. The meet gets underway at 1 p.m.
