SWEET BRIAR, VA – Sweet Briar swimming opened the 2005-06 season with wins over visiting Salem College and Bridgewater (club) in a double duel meet. The Vixens defeated Salem by a score of 65-22 to pick up their first win of the season.
Kelly Cuddihy ‘09 (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), Sarah Hall ’09 (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) and Jennifer Milby ’08 (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) were all three-event winners. Cuddihy, Hall, Milby and Kate Lydin ’09 (Mercer Island, WA/Mercer Island) started the meet with a first place finish in the 200 M medley relay (2:20.33). Cuddihy then took home first in the 200 M individual medley and the 100 M breaststroke. Hall finished first in the 50 M freestyle and 100 M butterfly. The 200 M freestyle and 100 M backstroke went to Milby. Lydin picked up her second first-place finish in the 100 M freestyle.
The Vixens are back in the pool Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. against the College of Notre Dame MD. Sweet Briar opens conference action on the road Nov. 2 with a double-dual meet at Washington and Lee versus W&L and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.
