GREENSBORO, NC – Sweet Briar soccer gave up five first-half goals Wednesday in a 6-0 loss at Guilford College. The loss moves the Vixens’ conference record to 1-8-1 with one game left to play this season.
“We have a young team with a couple of injuries,” said coach Paul Shaw. “In the first half we made that an excuse, but in the second the team grew up and played to a level we should have been at for the whole 90 minutes.”
After giving up the five first-half goals, the Vixens rebounded to hold the Quakers to just one goal in the second half.
Sweet Briar finishes up the 2005 regular season at home Tuesday taking on Lynchburg College at 3:30 p.m.
