Sweet Briar goalkeeper Jenn Wiley (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown HS) turned back 18 shots at Eastern Mennonite Thursday night, vaulting her into first place as the Division III all-time career saves leader. Wiley (919) passed Franklin and Marshall’s Andrea Krupp, who posted 912 saves from 1995-1998. With seven games remaining in the season, the senior keeper should end her career firmly in the lead.
According to Sweet Briar coach Jennifer Crispen, “Getting to the ball as well as Jenn Wiley does requires a combination of athleticism and courage. She makes up in ferocity what she gives away in size, because at 5-1 she has to work hard to cover her angles.”
Wiley is a senior biology major and president of Sweet Briar’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She is a defender on the lacrosse team, and a two-year captain.
