The first concert in the 2005-06 Janet Lowrey Gager Series at Sweet Briar College will be held noon Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Babcock Fine Arts Center's Murchison Lane Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will include Debussy’s Petite Suite, Arensky’s Children’s Pieces, and Fauré’s Dolly Suite, all written for four-hand piano. Performing on this program are several excellent student pianists, Alisa Bohon, and Rebecca McNutt, SBC professor of music.
Guests are welcome to bring lunch to enjoy during the concert. Please note that the venue for the concert has changed from Memorial Chapel to Murchison Lane Auditorium.
Also in the series this fall, tenor John Hugo, soprano Lily Hsieh, flutist Alycia Hugo, and pianist Rebecca McNutt will perform a program, "Music of Germany," on Oct. 4. Oscar-winning composer Bruce Broughton's film music can be heard Nov. 1. For more information, please e-mail
