ROANOKE, VA –Sweet Briar College took Randolph-Macon Woman’s College to four games, Sunday, to open the second day of play at the Roanoke Maroon Classic. The Wildcats defeated the Vixens 31-29, 15-30, 28-30, 25-30. First-year Rebecca Martin (Charleston, WV/Capital City) led the offense with 10 kills.
Sweet Briar ended the tournament with a three-game loss to Ferrum College (18-30,13-30, 10-30)in game two. First-year setter Brittney Berry (Tappahannock, VA/Essex) picked up 15 assists. Meagan Bell ‘09(Madison Heights, VA/Amherst) had 6 kills.
Sweet Briar opens conference play at home Tuesday, taking on Roanoke College at 6:30 p.m.
