HAVERFORD, PA – Sweet Briar volleyball wrapped up weekend play at the Haverford Invitational, Sunday, with matches against Alfred University and Catholic University of America.
Sweet Briar played Alfred to four games in the morning, losing to the Saxons 14-30, 12-30, 30-28,16-30. The Vixens played strong defense in the game as four players posted double digits in digs. First-years Dori Rucker (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) and Shelley Woody (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst) led the team with 12.
In game two, Catholic defeated Sweet Briar in straight sets, 11-30, 22-30, 17-30. Natalie Cutchin ’09 (Windsor, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) had 10 digs. Jade Bomar ’08 (Monroe, VA/Amherst) picked up 13 assists.
The Vixens travel to Roanoke next weekend to play in the Roanoke Maroon Classic.
