HAVERFORD, PA -- Sweet Briar lost both games Saturday, in the first day of play at the Haverford Invitational.
In their first match of the tournament, Arcadia University defeated the Vixens 23-30,19-30, 26-30. First-year Meagan Bell (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst) had 11 digs in the match. Dori Rucker ’09 (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) and Bell each had four kills. In game two with Neumann College, the Vixens lost by a score of 18-30, 11-30, 16-30. Bell again led Sweet Briar in defense, picking up 13 digs. Sophomore setter Jade Bomar (Monroe, VA/Amherst) had 10 assists in the loss.
Sweet Briar faces Alfred University tomorrow morning in day two of the invitational.
