In the new edition of the Princeton Review’s annual guidebook, “The Best 361 Colleges,” Sweet Briar College is ranked in five top-20 category lists including “Class Discussion Encouraged” and “Beautiful Campus.”
In the student-based survey, Sweet Briar came in at No. 11 both for encouraging discussion in class and in the “Professors Make Themselves Accessible” category. SBC ranked No. 3 for “Most Beautiful Campus,” No. 14 for “Dorms Like Palaces,” and No. 20 for “Town-Gown Relations are Great.”
About 15 percent of four-year colleges in America are listed in the annual guide. According to the publisher, academic programs are the primary consideration for including a school. Programs are evaluated using institutional data, student feedback and visits to the schools. Ranking lists are based on a survey of 110,000 students attending the colleges that make it into the book.
