Various members of the Sweet Briar College community gathered at the Florence Elston Conference Center on April 22 for the second annual Unsung Heroes Banquet. The event serves to honor SBC staff members whose work and dedication makes the campus a better place to study, work, and live — those who "are rarely recognized but always appreciated."

Students voted SBC postal clerk Jimmy Rose and Ruth Canada in Housekeeping, respectively, as the male and female recipients of the 2004-05 "Unsung Hero" award. The more whimsical "Crazy Team" awards were also given to staff members for "special" talents such as joke telling and likelihood of breaking into song or dance.
