The Sweet Briar College Writers Series resumes on Thursday, March 24 with poet Eleanor Rand Wilner. She will read from her latest collection, "The Girl with Bees in Her Hair," from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Pannell Gallery.
In addition to publishing six volumes of poetry, Wilner has received the Juniper Prize for Poetry, two Pushcart Prizes, and earned fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the MacArthur Foundation.
Author Edward Schwarzschild will wrap up the spring series on Tuesday, April 19 with a reading from his first novel, "Responsible Men," from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Boxwood Room of the Florence Elston Conference Center. Schwarzschild is a former Helen Deutsch fellow in Creative Writing at Boston University and a recent Wallace Stegner fellow at Stanford University. His writings have appeared in the Virginia Quarterly Review and Southwest Review, among other publications. He is assistant professor at the University at Albany, SUNY, and teaches fiction writing, American literature, and film studies.
