Sweet Briar College President Elisabeth Muhlenfeld is pleased to welcome Paul T. Davies to the College as vice president for Finance and Administration effective July 1.

Paul comes to Sweet Briar from Duke University, where he has served on staff in various capacities since 1987. He is currently director of finance for auxiliary services, where he's worked with everything from information systems to dining services and parking. Paul also worked in the department of medicine and the internal audit department.

A graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Paul is accustomed to overseeing budgets of $100 million, but has also distinguished himself in entrepreneurial areas. He has developed auxiliary services approaches that have yielded significant savings for Duke while earning the respect of the school's students, faculty, and staff as well as outside contractors.

Before Duke, he spent four years in public accounting and two years at Blue Cross of Texas. A Certified Public Accountant, Paul has spent most of his professional life in finance.

Paul and his wife, Karen, have three children, Brian (8, going into the fourth grade), Shelby (11, who begins middle school this year), and Robyn (13, who will be a freshman in high school).
