The Sweet Briar College Alumnae Association welcomes Linda DeVogt as its new president. DeVogt, a Roanoke, Va.-based senior account representative for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, started in her new SBC role on July 1.
She graduated from Sweet Briar College in 1986 with a bachelor in arts degree in English and has been an active volunteer for the College ever since. DeVogt previously served as the second vice president of the association, responsible for reunion and Alumnae Council planning, and before that was third vice-president responsible for the SBC Alumnae Admissions Program.
She also served on the Centennial Commission, is a former president of the Sweet Briar Club of Richmond, and has been an active Alumnae Admissions representative. In Richmond she served in various leadership roles in the Junior League, including editor of the monthly newsletter, community council member, and was named Community Volunteer of the Year in 1995.
DeVogt served as a tutor for literary agency READ and the Sacred Heart Center, an educational center for single parents and their children. She grew up in Lexington, Va., and began her professional career working for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Richmond before transferring to Roanoke in the past year.
