The Sweet Briar College engineering program will launch the first "SBC Cardboard Boat Regatta" on Thursday, Oct.7 at noon at the Lower Lake Boat House.
Students in the Engineering 110 class have designed and built boats out of cardboard and duct tape and will race them - two students per craft - from the Boat House. The event is free and open to the greater Sweet Briar community and general public. In case of rain, the event will be held at the pool in Williams Gymnasium.
