Drummer and jazz/world-beat artist Robert Jospé and his band, Inner Rhythm, will visit Sweet Briar for a performance in Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. The concert is open to the general public.
Inner Rhythm plays original music that blends together high-energy jazz, Latin, and Afro-Cuban themes. Jospé and the seven-member ensemble have released four chart-topping CDs together.
Jospé started his musical career in New York City, but moved to Charlottesville 15 years ago to teach jazz drumming and play in the Free Bridge Quintet at the University of Virginia. He is the recipient of an ongoing touring grant for his lecture and demonstration series, "World Beat Workshop."
Inner Rhythm includes Kevin Davis (percussion), Jeff Decker (saxophones), Bob Hallahan (piano), John D'earth (trumpet), Pete Spaar (bass), Royce Campbell (guitar), and Elias Bailey (bass).
