Victoria Gadikian '07
1985-2006
The Sweet Briar community suffered a loss this past Friday when Victoria Gadikian '07 died tragically in a weather-related car accident in Buffalo, New York. Gadikian, an outstanding athlete, was a member of both the soccer and lacrosse teams from 2003-2005. She was a two-time team MVP in soccer, and instrumental in the record-setting 2005 lacrosse season.
In the spring of 2005, Gadikian was named to the All-Tournament lacrosse team, and received ODAC All-Conference honorable mention. The Vixens reached the semi-finals of the ODAC tournament for the first time in 17 years.
Gadikian will be missed by teammates, friends, coaches and teachers. She was an integral part of the SBC community. Soccer coach Paul Shaw commented, "She added so much to Sweet Briar, our soccer program and the community. I really enjoyed coaching Vicky, a true competitor who will sorely be missed."
Teammate and friend Claire Bryan '07 said, "Vicky was the kind of person that made everyone around her smile. She was an amazing individual and athlete. It was an honor to have been a friend and a teammate. Those who knew her will forever honor and cherish her memory."
