Vixens Travel to Roanoke for Maroon Classic
Sweet Briar volleyball couldn’t come away with a win Friday, as play opened at the Maroon Classic hosted by Roanoke College. In its first game of the tournament, Sweet Briar faced North Carolina Wesleyan, falling 15-30, 15-30, 24-30. Sophomore Meagan Bell (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst County) led the Vixens with 11 digs.

Peace College took Sweet Briar’s second match of the day in three games (28-30, 16-30, 25-30). First-year Lindsay Sankoff led her team with seven kills. First-year Caitlin Kuczynski (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) finished with 18 assists in game two.

Sweet Briar looks to get back in the win column Saturday when it faces Randolph-Macon Women’s College and Ferrum College.
