WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Vixens of Sweet Briar College walked away with one win Saturday at Salem College, winning their second of two matches in five games.
The Vixens opened the day with a 30-19, 30-18, 30-16 loss to Shenandoah University. First-year Katie McIntyre (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) led the team with 16 digs. Brianna Bone '10 (Chipley, FL/Chipley) led at the net with five kills.
In Sweet Briar's afternoon contest with host Salem College, the Vixens fell in game one 28-30 before rebounding to capture games two, three and five for the win. Caitlin Kuczynski '10 (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) had 10 assists in the match. Meagan Bell '09 (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst County) had 10 kills in the win.
Sweet Briar heads to Randolph-Macon College Wednesday to take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m.
