On Sunday Sept. 24 the Sweet Briar Fall Field Team attended the Rockbridge Hunt Fall Hunter Trials. Participating members included Lucy Hankinson ’09 riding Storyteller, Lindsay Mills ’09 riding SBC’s Most of All and Jenny Walkiewicz ’09 riding SBC’s Woodstock.
SBC Fall Field Team members Jenny Walkiewicz (left) and Lindsay Mills won the Adult Hunter champion and Adult Hunter reserve champion titles at the Rockbridge Hunt Fall Hunter Trials on Sept. 24.With stand-in coach Jon Conyers, the team stood out at its first hunter trials of the season. Competing in various classes throughout the day, the girls were always in the ribbons. Despite the challenge of rainy weather, all horse and rider pairs handled the course well. Highlights of the day included Walkiewicz earning the Adult Hunter champion title. Reserve champion went to Lindsay Mills.

“Events with the team are always a blast [and] the hunter trials were no exception. I really enjoyed watching Lindsay and Jenny compete in the pairs class,” Hankinson said.

The Fall Field Team looks forward to the next competition, the SBC Hunter Trials to be held at Sweet Briar on Saturday, Oct. 14.
