Each September Sweet Briar riders head to Culpeper, Va., for the U.S. Grand Prix League Horse Show put on by the
HITS show management. This year 23 riders and horses spent their fall break showing under the Sweet Briar College banner.
The USPGL show is the culmination of a six-show series held at Commonwealth Park in Culpeper, and was attended by 700 riders and horses from across the United States.

Katie Davilli ’09, riding SBC’s Hatrick, was champion in the both the hunters and the equitation divisions. Davilli’s overall scores for the weekend also were high enough to earn her the reserve circuit championship for the six-show series in both divisions.
The jumper riders were equally successful with
Emily Wiley ’07 winning two blue ribbons to secure the championship in the High Adult Jumper Championship on her horse Never Satisfied. Her sister,
Jane Wiley ’10, rode her horse Smart Alec and equaled Emily’s performance with two blues and the championship in the High Children’s Jumper division. Emily Wiley also received the reserve circuit championship award in the High Adult Jumpers while
Megan Manubay ’08 claimed the circuit championship in the Low Adult Jumpers with her horse Halo Star.
