Hockey Vixens End Regular Season at Roanoke
SALEM, Va. — Sweet Briar College field hockey ended its 2006 regular season Friday on the road at Roanoke College. The game went to the Maroons by a score of 4-0 to give the Vixens a 1-7 mark this season in conference play.

Vixens Melissa Carron ’10 (Grosse Pointe, MI/Grosse Pointe North) and Megan Manubay ’08 (Bear, DE/Caravel) played well on attack for Sweet Briar while defender Ann-Gordon Bennett ’10 (Locust Hill, VA/Christchurch) helped slow down the Maroon attack on the defensive end. Goalie Cat Cox ’08 (Prince Frederick, VA/Calverton) stopped 15 shots in the cage for Sweet Briar.

The Vixens open the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament on the road Oct. 28. Quarterfinal pairings will be determined after all regular season matches have concluded.
