Sweet Briar tennis came up short, Sunday, losing to Lynchburg College 6-3. The Vixens found themselves down 3-0 after doubles, but fought to pick up three wins in singles. Caroline Byrd ’08 (Virginia Beach,VA/Norfolk Academy) won in straight sets over Emily Williams at #3 and senior Sue Knouse (Washington, DC/Fort Worth CDS) picked up her fourth straight singles win at #5, defeating Erika Seay 6-4, 6-4. In the #1 slot, senior Torrey Shallcross (Alpharetta, GA/Milton) came back from losing the first set, to defeat Marin Brown in a 10-point tiebreaker.

The Vixens are in action this week, as they host ODAC matches with Bridgewater College Monday at 4:30 and Hollins University on Wednesday.
