Senior Karah Strawley (Charlottesville, VA/Covenant) picked up eight assists as Sweet Briar lacrosse dominated Ferrum College Tuesday, defeating the Panthers 20-0 and improving their season record to 7-3.

Sweet Briar scored early and often, leading at half 12-0. Junior Julie Sellers (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) led all scorers with five. First-year Bethany Bressan (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne’s Belfield) added to her season total, with four goals and three assists. Three other Vixens had three goals each.

Emily Fitzpatrick ’07 (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) had four saves for her second shutout of the season.

Coach Ackerman said, “We wanted to prepare ourselves for our upcoming games. We were able to see some options from the sidelines.”

The Vixens look to continue their winning streak Thursday, when they take on the Quakers of Guilford College at 4:30 p.m.
