Senior Kelly Jaeger scored four goals for Randolph-Macon as the Yellow Jackets defeated Sweet Briar 15-8 Wednesday in lacrosse. With the loss, the Vixens fall to 2-2 in the conference.
Sweet Briar gave up four quick goals in the first five minutes of play but finished the half strong scoring three goals before the break. First-year Sarah Ross Stewart (Lexington, VA/Virginia Episcopal) led Sweet Briar with three goals scored. Julie Sellers ’06 (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) and Bethany Bressan ’08 (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne’s Belfield) each added two.
The Vixens' defense held the Yellow Jackets scoreless in the last 20 minutes of play, as sophomore keeper Emily Fitzpatrick (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy) ended the game with 16 saves.
Sweet Briar is back in action Sunday when they face non-conference Lees-McRae at 1 p.m.
